As the first quarter of 2021 drew to a close, Sensor Tower's data provides us with interesting insights into the performance of the top convenience store applications on the Android platform in Latin America.
The mi OXXO app, published by Cadena Comercial OXXO from Mexico, displayed a fluctuating trend in downloads, peaking at around 14K in mid-January before dropping to approximately 4K in late February and then rising back to roughly 11K towards the end of March. Weekly active users followed a similar pattern, starting at approximately 22K, seeing a high of nearly 29K in January, and settling around 25K by the end of March.
7-Eleven México experienced its highest download figures in the middle of February, reaching close to 7K, with other weeks generally hovering around the 4K to 6K mark. The weekly active users showed more stability, starting at around 8K, peaking at nearly 12K in mid-January, and then slightly declining to around 9K by the end of the quarter.
Dollar General's app downloads saw a significant spike in early February, when they jumped to over 3K from just a few hundred in the preceding weeks, and then a later surge to around 2K at the end of March. The weekly active users for Dollar General had a peak of roughly 6K in early February with a gradual decline to around 4.5K towards the end of March.
The The 99 Store app showed a peak in downloads in mid-January with over 500 downloads, which then decreased to just over 30 by the end of March. Weekly active users for The 99 Store app rose to 255 in January, followed by a decrease to just under 100 active users by the close of the quarter.
Lastly, the Family Dollar app exhibited relatively low download numbers throughout the quarter, with a small peak of 56 in early February, and weekly active users remaining quite steady, ranging from 110 to 130 throughout the quarter.
